Tammy has been a teacher and choreographer in San Diego for many years. In her youth, Tammy attended dance classes of many types and styles, and she was a model of children’s wear. Tammy competed in numerous dance competitions, competing in tap, ballet, jazz, tumbling, and baton twirling, winning many sweepstakes and 1st place trophies. She also competed in the Miss Teen La Jolla Pageant, winning Miss Congeniality.
At the age of 16, Tammy began teaching dance classes and learning to choreograph her own routines. Her students began to compete and won many trophies, including a number of sweepstakes awards. Tammy became a professional dancer where she danced in USO shows as well as becoming a lead dancer in the “Tom Jepperson Show” both in San Diego and Los Angeles. Tammy has been on staff at several area studios and gyms including Metro Dance, Janie Cushing Dance Studio, San Diego Dance Academy, and Chula Vista Recreation (Gymnastics).
Tammy has mentored a number of students who have performed in movies, danced at Disney World, Disneyland, Las Vegas, Broadway, and cruise ships. She continues to mentor students as a volunteer for her 9th year with the El Capitan High School Performing Arts Department, assisting with their dance company and ensemble choir. Tammy enjoyed two years as a volunteer choreographer at Tierra Del Sol Middle School assisting with their newly developed dance department, and is now beginning her first year as a volunteer with Lakeside Middle School Dance.
